Joy in Everyday Life*
As meditation practice expands and we develop trust in basic goodness, we begin to discover the confidence and personal energy to go forward on the journey. This leads to a sense of joy and bravery. The mahayana teachings on compassion become the inspiration for a life of cheerful discipline and freedom from doubt.
This course will run for five consecutive Wednesday evenings, starting at 7.45pm until 9.30pm, beginning on the 17th April, finishing on 15th May.
It will include meditation practice, talks, and discussion groups, and you will also be invited to do some reading and meditation between sessions.
*pre-requisites: completion of Contentment in Everyday Life. If you have not done this course, but have some experience in meditation, and would like to participate in Joy in Everyday Life, this is possible if you attend a pre-course evening on the 10th April at the same time.
Joy in Everyday Life is part of the Way of Shambhala curriculum. This includes the Everyday Life series, usually taught as 5-week evening courses, and also Shambhala Training, which is a series of weekend programs.
This course will be taught by Irene Cleghorn and Rona Wyatt.

About Way of Shambhala
The Way of Shambhala offers a structured path of meditation and a complete introduction to the foundations of Shambhala Buddhism. This series of evening classes provides a strong foundation in mindfulness-awareness meditation practice, wisdom teachings, and physical practices rooted in the ancient traditions of Shambhala and Tibetan Buddhism. Students will also be introduced to contemplative disciplines that make the journey experiential—touching our emotions, our intelligence, our creativity, and the practical details of daily life in modern society. The programmes are presented by experienced Shambhala teachers under the guidance of the Shambhala lineage-holder, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.
