Talk: Symbolism and Shambhala Culture

Contact person : Dan Evans
Price: £8.00 full price / £5.00 members
This talk will explore the importance of symbolism within the Shambala tradition

Symbols form part of what makes us human beings. All cultures are created and established through the use of symbolism.  The banners of the Great Eastern Sun, the four dignities and our shrine are potent symbols within the wisdom of Shambhala. The symbolism of the eternally rising sun and of our shrine reflect and remind us of our potential to discover our own inherent goodness.   This talk will explore how the meanings we attribute consciously and unconsciously to symbols shape our beliefs and culture and how Shambhala culture and symbolism can help us to establish and create an enlightened society.

The evening will begin with a period of meditation practice followed by the talk from Christine Jeffcut, one of our most experienced meditation instructors.

We're also hoping to for dinner after the talk at a local restaurant.

If you would like to join us for the meal please register for the event so we can get an idea of numbers to book a table.

If you would like to come only for the talk there is no need to register, just turn up on the night.
