During this coming year our study will focus on the Mahayana teachings beginning with the six paramitas.

The six paramitas, or transcendental activities of the bodhisattva, are generosity, discipline, patience, exertion, meditation and prajna; the bodhisattva being one who walks the path of the awakened ones.

Today we will present the first paramita of generosity.  Here generosity can be seen as an antidote to the attachment that binds and constrains us in so many ways. The remaining paramitas will be presented during the course of the year.

We could feel intimidated by such aspirations but the potential for the paramitas is inherent in human nature, so instead we start where we are to recognise and cultivate them.

Everyone welcome.  New meditators will be offered meditation instruction with a qualified meditation instructor.

This event is free but a donation of around £5 - £10 would be appreciated. If you would like to donate, please click on the REGISTRATION button
