Through the practice of meditation and the principles of Shambhala Buddhism, we aim to realise the basic goodness of ourselves and society.
Our groups offer meditation instruction, Buddhist courses and mindfulness practice suitable for all levels. Evening talks and weekend programmes are available on teachings from the Shambhala tradition.
Our aim is to awaken everyone’s trust in their own fundamental goodness and that of all other living beings, in order to realise an appreciative, abierto, fearless society.
The doors of Shambhala and our path of spiritual development through meditation are open to everyone. With us you will find a protected place of peace and quiet where you can encounter yourself and others and learn to understand both better.
Basic Goodness
The capacity to love and care for others, an open and responsive heart, and the ability to experience each moment freshly are qualities that all human beings share. In this time of great challenge for individuals, sociedad, y el planeta, the Shambhala teachings can help us to awaken to this fundamental goodness and to face these challenges with fearlessness and compassion.

Regular Meditation Gatherings
Whether you are new to meditation or more experienced, you are welcome to visit us at one of our regularly scheduled sessions. Perhaps you have discovered mindfulness online and would like to try meditating with others ‘in real life’! Perhaps you have meditated before within a different group or tradition. These sessions are open to all and we warmly invite you to join us for an evening.

Dechen Chöling is situated in the midst of beautiful soft green hills and magnificent old trees near Limoges, France. This is our community’s principal retreat centre for deep practice and study in Europe.
It is a welcoming and accommodating place, where people find a supportive environment to learn and practice meditation and mindfulness. The land’s natural expression of beauty and fertility is nourishing to mind and body alike. In Dechen Chöling, people from different generations and from various cultures meet. A place to advance your personal development and experience your inner journeys in a caring environment.
Throughout the year, Dechen Chöling offers programmes ranging from basic meditation, qigong and contemplative arts to advanced Shambhala Buddhist teachings taught by esteemed teachers.
