On Thursday evenings from 7.30 until 8.45 we hold an Open House session which you can attend in person or online.  This is held in the Small Meeting Room at The Friends Meeting House, 126 Hampton Road, Redland, Bristol, BS6 6JE.  During the evening there is a period of sitting meditation followed by short mindfulness of body exercise, then a reading or talk and discussion.

In the Buddhist teachings 'ego' refers to the process through which we solidify ourselves and our worlds: mistaking a reality that is naturally open, spacious and clear as being fixed, solid, and small. Traditionally this process is described through the metaphor of five skandhas or heaps. This week we will begin to unpack the five skandhas as well as question how they might relate in curious ways with recent developments in cognitive science.
